I went back home a couple days ago, and I found out that one of my aunt was diagnosed with cancer. I realised at that time that life is short and I need to make the most out of it. So I decided that I am going to enjoy my life, starting from my solo trip to gili.
To be honest, I was a bit scared about it. But as I rode my shuttle to Juanda, I wasn't scared anymore. I was excited!
I was flying with citilink to Lombok, and got delayed for 1 hour. I arrived around 7 local time and immediately bought damri bus ticket to seggigi for Rp. 35.000. The bus stopped for a while a Mandalika terminal, and continue its trip to Senggigi.
I asked the kind driver to drop me at Sendok Hotel Bar & Restaurant, where I spend a night before heading to Bangsal Port in the morning. I booked junior standard room that cost me around Rp. 220K. For me it was worth the money. It was a room with fan, with no TV nor hot water, but located next to the main road.
The girl at the receptionist was kind enough to help me organised my trip to bangsal, but I had to decline since it was pricey and I can't leave as early as I had wanted.
So the next morning, I checked my self out around 7 am, asked the guy at the front office to call a taxi for me. I specifically asked for Lombok Taxi, and arrived at Bangsal harbour about 40mins later. I was lucky that there were no officers at the main gate so the taxi could dropped me off in front of the ticket sale office. The taxi cost me Rp.105K. The public boat ticket? It only cost me Rp. 15K. Cheap!
The trip from Bangsal to Gili Trawangan took about 45 mins.I start looking for 3 gilis snorkeling package once I got off the boat. It cost me Rp. 120K including lunch in gili air. Since the snorkeling trip started at 10, I visited my hotel, Natya, which was next to the hotel I stayed on my last trip to Gili, The Beach House.
The snorkeling trip was amazing like before, and much more since the boat guy took me to a shipwreck and I'm the only person in my group that got the chance to see it!
The snorkeling was another eye-opener that life is good. Life is really good. You need to be grateful for your health, for the time that still being given freely to you.
I write this on my second day at Natys restaurant, sitting comfirtably in one of the swings, enjoying the hot and sunny day while noticing the striking difference in local and foreign tourist. I still have time until tomorrow to do this.
